Frequently Asked Questions

What is Home, Truly about, and what is this open call for?

Home, Truly: Growing Up with Singapore, 1950s to the Present is an upcoming exhibition presented by the National Museum of Singapore, in collaboration with The Straits Times. The exhibition explores moments and experiences in our history that express our identity and collective memory as Singaporeans.

Featuring archival photographs, artefacts and digital interactives, the exhibition aims to encourage reflection and conversation on what it means to be Singaporean, and include opportunities for the public to contribute their stories. This open call invites you to contribute your photographs and stories for potential display in the exhibition, as we reflect on the moments and experiences that have shaped Singapore.

The Straits Times’ collaboration with the National Museum of Singapore in Home, Truly is part of its 175th anniversary contribution to the community. It is one of two exhibitions under The Straits Times’ Through The Lens series that celebrates visual storytelling. The other is the World Press Photo exhibition which will be held in October, also at the National Museum of Singapore. Home, Truly is also supported by Photonico (www.photonico.asia) and Singapore Press Holdings.
